On arrival "We were greeted by a Rotarian from the district who arranged all our travel in India. He arranged drivers and a guide to take to every train stop and points of interest to make sure everyone and everything was OK. Rotarians look after other Rotarians. "Group Members: Rotarian Keith Lyons and his partner Beverly (Hampton Club); Randy Croszman and his partner Brenda (Kentville club); Rotarian Gloria Baird (Hampton); friend of Rotary, Donna (her husband was a Rotarian); Rotarian Pam Harrison (Sackville Club). |
" This is the picture of me giving the drops to a dear little child. Two drops and a smile to protect a child from Polio. It was a thrill and I may have done 50 children that day in 10 different clinics. But in addition to this we had time to play with the kids and pass out treats. It was wonderful. " |

"After the National Immunization Day was completed we gathered that evening (May 15th) to celebrate and receive the results from all the clinics. It was like an elections day - every clinic called in the number of children that were seen all day. The total was 750,000 children under the age of 5 years. This was also the first time I wore a sari in public and I sure was pleased it stayed on !" |
