WHAT IS ROTARACT ?

A Rotaract club is a Rotary sponsored club for 18-30 year-olds that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high ethical standards in business, and promotes international peace and understanding.

HOW DID ROTARACT BEGIN ?

The first Rotaract club, the Rotaract club of the University of North Carolina, was founded on 13 March 1968. The club was sponsored by the Rotary club of North Charlotte, North Carolina.

Today, there are more than 7,088 clubs in over 150 countries worldwide.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

  • Formation of Interact Club at Tantramar Regional High School

  • Fundraising : By going door to door in the residence to create awareness of Rotaract the group raised almost $200 through a fifty-fifty draw (February 2009)

  • Our major international project is the Blood : Water Mission which tries to create clean blood and water in Africa. Our plan is to create awareness for the clean water aspect of the organization and try to raise funds for their work repairing and building wells.

- Began in 2005.

- Chartered June 2006.

- Meets Wednesdays 8 p.m.
September - April

- Has about 9 active members
